Crop

Click this or press (Shift+Ins) after you have selected a region in your image. The area you have selected will now be displayed separately, allowing you to modify or save the region only.

This feature is very useful if you want eliminate unwanted portions of an image. Simply select the portion of the image you want to keep and the choose crop and the rest of the image will be removed.
